If you want your server to appear in the public server browser, you need to create a Steam Game Server Login Token (GSLT). This token allows your server to authenticate with Steam and register in the public server list.
This guide explains how to generate a token and add it to your Garry's Mod server.
A Game Server Login Token (GSLT) is used to identify your server with Steam. Without it, your server may still run but might not appear publicly in the multiplayer server list.
Using a GSLT ensures that:
Your server can be listed publicly
Steam can verify your server instance
Your server remains stable and authenticated
First, log in to your Steam account using your web browser.
You will need a Steam account that owns at least one game and has no active bans or restrictions.
Go to the official Steam Game Server Login Token page:
https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers
Once there:
Enter the App ID for Garry's Mod:
4000Add a Memo (this is just a name to identify the token)
Example:
My GMod ServerClick Create
Steam will generate your server token.
After creating the token, Steam will display a long string similar to this:
A1B2C3D4E5F6G7H8I9J0KCopy this token.
Keep it private, as it allows your server to authenticate with Steam.
Log in to your server panel from Avalanche Hosting.
Navigate to the Startup Configuration section and find the field labeled:
Steam Account Token
Paste the token you copied into this field.
After adding the token:
Save the settings
Restart your server
Once the server starts again, it will authenticate with Steam and should now appear in the public server list.
